Visegrad Choral Bridges II


Project relevance

The project aims to extend and improve international cooperation of university choirs from Rzeszow (PL), Banska Bystrica (SVK), Eger (HU) and Olomouc (CZ) in choral singing, promotion and popularization of choral music by contemporary composers from the participating countries. Implementation will be realized by the active form of shared public workshops and concerts. To achieve the objectives recording a CD will also contribute with a read-up programme of workshops at which all the choirs will participate. The project will allow the promotion of contemporary choral works, the better exchange of experiences and information, to establish regular contacts between universities. It will bring excellent results for the participants of the project in the following years as well. Each choir will provide a stay (accommodation and meals) and local transportation for two choirs, publishing of at least two outputs of the project and will organize a workshop and choral concerts in their area. Project Coordinator will ensure a shared recording CD in Olomouc (including any instrumental accompaniment and soloists). Work of the contemporary composers will be presented primarily in workshops, concerts and on the CD. Practice of the present choir production of each country will be represented by vocal meeting, workshop, a common practice. Each participant suggests his home 2-3 songs of the author in a 10-15 min will be scheduled common rehearsals and choral songs in the order: Banská Bystrica, Rzeszow, Eger, Olomouc.

Main project objective

The contribution for the target group consists of several aspects. The main reason is operated by a common interest in an active voice choir, participating in concerts and workshops, meeting new people at home and abroad, bringing the music and artistic experiences, joy and pleasure to other people. Benefit is an active introduction to the current production of composers of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
